Public Toilets UK, is fighting to keep public conveniences open across the UK. With the public toilet in Tollcross being featured in the local press recent with country wide organisation may help if you have a fight to keep your public conveniences open in your area.

Via it’s Facebook page  www.facebook.com/PTUKcampaign it is working against the tide of closures to improve toilet access.

Closing public toilets does not save money in the longterm as people have to go somewhere and that somewhere means someone has to clean up or a public health issue can arise. As you rightly say parents with children will find the situation difficult as will any tourists to the area – and also mobile workers who no doubt find current facilities very useful during their working hours. Unfortunately needing a loo is not a choice and for many it will be simpler to stay at home than take the risk of having an ‘accident’ by venturing out.
