I am so glad to hear to are objecting to the plans for student flats at Thorneybauk and Gilmore Place. If there is anyone I can write to to support your objection please let me know.
Having recently been in conversation with someone for the student housing coop at Wrights Houses I would support the development of more student coops. I worry that so much of the new purpose built housing for students are unaffordable – especially when they include gyms etc which the students don’t really need.
I have heard that building student accommodation is a tax dodge for developers and building regulations are more lax. This is a worry as well
I hope you are successful in overturning planning for both those options

Thanks for your comment. I could not agree more. You can go to the link below on the council portal and make your objection. That would be good and complaints from students carry more weight than comments from the community council. We have objected to about a dozen PBSA over the years with little success. One was refused but then allowed by the Scottish Govt. on appeal and we have one more at appeal which will probably be allowed. The more objections, the better.
