Social Care Consultation
Changes to social care law arising from the Social Care (Self-directed Support) (Scotland) Act 2013, mean that people will now have a personal budget based on an assessment of their needs. The council wants to hear views on how we work out how people make a contribution to their personal budget.
Charging for non-residential care affects a wide range of people, including service users, unpaid carers and partner organisations. It is important to ensure that a thorough dialogue is undertaken with key groups and citizens, in order that an informed decision can be taken on proposed new arrangements for contribution-based charging. We are therefore undertaking a three month consultation on our proposals.
