6pm at Tollcross was the place to be as we came together to switch on the Tollcross Christmas tree lights. Organised by Tollcross Community Council we were treated to James Gillespie’s High School Pipe Band, lights switched on by pupils of Tollcross Primary School, Tollcross Primary School Choir, James Gillespie’s Brass Ensemble Christmas Carols Sing-a-long and Jingle bells, Edinburgh Samba School Band, Refreshments for all – and to finish with dancing with the Samba Band. We were also joined by local Councillors Melanie Main and  Karen Doran.

A great night of singing, samba dancing and munching of mince pies was enjoyed by a large crowd who watched the lights being switched on. It was great to see the community come together in Tollcross.

We would like to thank our sponsors: South Central Neighbourhood Partnership, refreshments from Scotmid & Sainsbury’s Morrison St. Supported by Barclay Viewforth Church & Central Hall.
