Where’s the Clock??
You might have noticed that the clock has disappeared from the Tollcross junction.
Apparently there was a routine condition check recently and crack was spotted near the base.
The Council decided it was safer to remove it. They estimate £60k is needed to repair it, and at the moment just say that it will repaired and replaced once they have identified a budget.

Hello I’m drawing up a petition about bringing back the clock. Would you be able to provide me with some information? I understand it has been removed to be repaired. What I need to know is which council department is responsible for paying for the repairs

I’m sorry it’s taken so long to reply but I just maintain the website and I don’t look at it every day.
I don’t have an answer to your question – and I suspect no-one on the Community Council will know. All I’ve heard is that “it’s away until funds can be identified to repair it.”
I’ll forward your email to Joanna Mowat, one of the Councillors who regularly attends the committee meetings and who may be able to help. I’ll also copy in Richard Allen, chair of the Community Council.
