I’m currently updating the research I undertook in late 2014 into the identity of the 106 men named on the North British Rubber Company Roll of Honour which was erected at Castle Mills,Fountainbridge in April 1922. The plaque itself is now on display on the 6th Floor of the National Museum of Scotland in Chambers Street.
I am aware that over half the men named lived within easy walking distance of the factory at addresses in Fountainbridge, Dalry, Gorgie and Tollcross.
In some cases I haven’t been able to precisely identify the man named and I was wondering if there was anyone living in the Tollcross area whose family has long established roots in the area who might be able to assist me with relevant information. I attach a link to a page on the nbrinklies (North British Rubber Co former employees) website which shows the result of my researches to the end of 2014.
I’d be most grateful for any information that your members might be able to provide.
